Consultations for Instructors
CTL staff consults with faculty members regarding course development, student engagement, technology integration, pedagogy, assessments, or any questions related to teaching and learning. To arrange an appointment or consultation, call CTL at 989-275-5000, ext. 500 or email ctl@kirtland.edu.
Professional Development
The CTL offers a number of professional development opportunities for you to improve your teaching practice. We offer workshops, technology training, and faculty learning communities. Check the events calendar to see what’s coming up!
Online Certification Training
The CTL offers two different online teaching certification courses for faculty. These are open enrollment courses, and must be completed in order to teach online for Kirtland. Please contact online@kirtland.edu to enroll or learn more about the training options.

Dave Cable, Director, Center for Teaching and Learning and Academic Technology
Center for Teaching and Learning
Dave has enjoyed spending his career in education. He currently serves as the Director for the Center for Teaching and Learning and Academic Technology at Kirtland Community College since 2015 after spending nine years assisting faculty and students with technology integration at Michigan State University. Before transitioning to MSU he served as an Educational Computer Strategist assistant and taught middle school English in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dave earned his Master’s Degree from MSU in Higher Adult and Lifelong Education (HALE) with a programmatic focus on organization and leadership, educational technology, and teaching and learning. Dave enjoys collaborating with faculty to create innovative learning experiences for the college community and students.
